Flicco is made by Scouting Stats AI LTD, Swan Buildings, 20 Swan Street, Manchester M4 5JW, United Kingdom (“we”). This page covers the games at flicco.io and the Flicco Football app for iPhone. We collect as little as we can, and there are no accounts: you never give us your email address, your real name or a password.
Your progress stays on your device
Your career, coins, player and settings are saved on your phone or in your browser, not on our servers. Deleting the app, or clearing your browser’s data for flicco.io, deletes them.
Anonymous play statistics
To make the levels fairer and the game better, the game sends us statistics about how it’s played:
- a random ID made on your device (not linked to you, your name or your phone number);
- what happens in the game: levels started and finished, how a go ended, screens opened, buttons used, how long a visit lasts;
- whether you’re on a phone, tablet or computer, which version of the game, and the website that linked you to us (if any);
- your country, worked out from your connection. We don’t store your IP address.
You can turn this off at any time: on the “How to play” screen, set Share anonymous play stats to Off. We keep these statistics for up to two years.
The daily leaderboard
If you post a score to the daily challenge, we store the name you choose for the leaderboard, your scores and a random ID and secret made on your device (so only you can post as you). Your chosen name and scores are shown to other players. Please don’t use your full real name. Names are checked for offensive words; to have a name removed, email us.
Adverts in the iPhone app
The Flicco Football app is free and shows adverts from Google AdMob: short ads you choose to watch for a reward (another go, lives, double coins) and occasional ads between levels. The website doesn’t show ads.
- To show ads and measure them, Google collects information such as your device’s advertising identifier (only if you allow tracking), your IP address and approximate location, and how you interact with ads. Google is responsible for that information under its own policy: how Google uses information from apps that use its services.
- Your age. The app asks everyone, once, what year they were born (you can say you’d rather not). We keep only your age group (under 13, 13 to 17, or 18 and over), never the year, and count age groups in our play statistics. If you’re under 18, or would rather not say, you only get ads that aren’t personalised, with no tracking; under-13s are also marked to Google as children and only see ads suitable for families.
- If you’re 18 or over and in the UK or European Economic Area, the app asks for your consent before personalised ads are shown. You can say no and still play: you’ll see ads that aren’t personalised.
- Apple’s “Allow tracking?” question lets you decide whether apps may use your advertising identifier. You can change this at any time in your iPhone’s Settings, under Privacy & Security › Tracking.
Notifications in the iPhone app
If you’re 18 or over, the app asks once whether you’d like a reminder when your lives are full or a new daily challenge is ready. If you say yes, your iPhone schedules them itself from your progress on the phone: nothing is sent to us or anyone else. At most one a day, never at night, and you can turn them off at any time in your iPhone’s Settings, under Notifications › Flicco Football. Under-18s are never asked.
Who else handles data
flicco.io and our servers run on Cloudflare, which processes connections to deliver the site. Adverts in the app come from Google. We don’t sell your information, and we don’t share it with anyone else.
Children
Flicco is a game anyone can enjoy. Players under 18 never get personalised ads or tracking, and every ad, for every age, is limited to family-rated content suitable for a general audience. Under-18s are never asked about notifications. If you believe a child has posted their real name to the leaderboard, email us and we’ll remove it.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of your information, to correct it or to delete it. Because the statistics are anonymous, we may need your device’s random ID (or your leaderboard name) to find yours. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
